Object Description Wallhanging picture of a Navajo woman weaving outside her hogan. Base frame of the wallhanging is a vertical wooden dowel 1.1 cm in diameter and 40.4 cm long, crossed by two horizontal dowels, 30 cm long, bound to the longer dowel, one at 9.5 cm up from the bottom, and the other 9.5 cm down from the top. Yarn in shades of brown is wrapped around and between these crossed sticks, forming an elongated hexagonal surface in the style of an "Ojo de Diós". In the central space, between the two horizontal dowels, the yarn forms broadly spaced warp cords, which are used as the warp for the woven picture. The picture is in woven tapestry, the design only is woven in, and the background left open with exposed warp threads.
