Object Description
Navajo loom from mid to late 20th century. All 17 parts appear to be of pine, and the surface of all pieces is only moderately smooth, unfinished wood. The frame consists of basic upper, side, and lower supports, which would stand on two feet bolted to the lower beam. Assembled, the loom would be 113 cm tall, 76.25 cm wide, and 35.7 cm deep. The bolts for assembly are not present. Upper an lower beans are two dowels, 61 cm long and 2 cm in diameter, with beveled ends. Three other smaller dowels may be intended to be tension bar, upper or lower bar, shed rod, or heddle rod. They are 61 cm long and 1 cm in diameter. A larger of three batten-shaped pieces may be the intended heddle rod. It is 73 cm long, 5.8 cm wide, .7 cm deep.
