Written on board: "New Jersey. / (Large end) Flat bottom, 15 feet long and 5 feet around largest part. Found under the ground where a cellar was being dug in 1868. Hackensack, N.J. near the Hackensack River. Gift of Mrs. Westervelt. / In possession of The Berzen County Historical Society, N. Jersey."
