Object Description Written on board: Oaxaca, Zapotec. Cat. No. C/10152 / The God Cocijo (Dios Cocijo) / Height: 8". Color: Light gray ceramic, badly eroded. Collected by John McPherson. Acquired by Museum in 1928. Epoch III-B of Monte Alban. (A.D. 700 - 1050) For discussion of this category, see Caso & Bernal's "Urnas de Oaxaca", 1952, 17. This urn and urn Cat. No. C-10153 are companion pieces. There are many instances in which the zapotec sculptor produced several identical urns.
