Written on board: "35-10 / China Gansu / Tibet [crossed out] / Gift of Harrison Forman / The Explorers Club / New York City / The Yak, an animal indigenous to Tibet. / It is a sort of cross between an ox and / a cow in appearance. An extremely valu- / able animal, it gives a very rich milk; / its long hair is used for cloth and / rope-making. It is very sure-footed on the / precipitous mountain trails."
