Object Description
Concha belt from the 1920s. Seven large oval conchas separated from one another by a total of six butterfly spacers on a thin heavyweight brown belt. Rectangular buckle has open square center and reposse turkey wing pattern on sides, with scalloped edges. Slight reposse swirl at each corner with stamped leaf design. Each of the conchas is a scalloped oval with a stamped pattern and raised reposse oval sunburst pattern in the center. Butterfly spacers with three reposse points at the top and bottom and an oval center with a raised reposse ridge. Reverse is engraved "HEXX". Buckle is 8 cm high, 9.5 cm wide, 1 cm deep. Conchas are 7.5 cm high, 9.4 cm wide, 1 cm deep. Spacers are 6.7 cm high, 3 cm wide, 1 cm deep. Overall length of belt is 124 cm.
