Object Description
Coiled basketry figure of a woman- "snowman" shaped with protruding arms and opening on head where hat fits. Made of bundle construction with bundles of bear grass, wefts of yucca, and designs of black martynia pod (Devil Claw?). Natural background with main design across body and waist consisting of interlocking diagonal pairs of stepped lines to produce diamonds. Black hair and facial features; opening left between two coils for mouth. Hat made of different materials and technique and probably did not originate with figure.
