Descriptions
Object Description Coiled oval basket with straight sides, attached lid with fastening mechanisms, and movable handle. Made of bundle construction with bundles of bear grass, wefts of yucca, and designs of black and brown martynia pod (Devil Claw?). Natural background with main design on sides consisting of a yellow line encircling base, upon which stands four tall cacti on ends and center of sides, interspersed with four short cacti. Cacti are yellow outlined in black; tall cacti have spikes in brown at tops. Rim finished in regular stitch with black stitches below it. Lid has geometric stepped design in yellow outlined in black against natural background. Rim of lid fits over edge of basket and is finished in regular stitch with black overcast.
