Object Description
Coiled basket with design consisting of four kachina heads against a natural background. Two are Heheya kachinas with yellow faces outlined in black, brown noses, ears, and feathers, and black, natural, and brown stripes on cheeks. Other two kachinas have black faces with natural colored features, yellow triangle headdresses outlined in black, and brown ears with yellow decorations hanging from them. Rim is finished in regular stitch. Made of thick and soft grass or yucca bundles sewn with yucca fiber dyed in aniline or vegetal dyes. Attached tag has price and word (or name?) "Tulare".
