Written on Board: "Serpent Mound Park, Adams Co., Ohio. / Peabody Museum Amer. Archaeology and Ethnology, / Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. / John Cone Kimball, / Photographer, 1887. / 4 - The Picnic Grounds at the south-eastern corner of the Park. / There is a fine spring of pure water in these grounds and also a 'sulphur' spring. This enclosure is half a mile from the entrance / following the road through the park."
