Object Description Wide Ruins rug, three horizontal bands of dark olive with joined serrated diamonds of olive outlined with white, with bands of gold lozenges with borders of olive and white pick and pick beading and four narrow bands of dark olive, white and olive stripes; these bands separated by four bands of gold. Ann Hedlund says it may be by Mary Jane Barker or from the Roan/Smith family (Mary or Ellen Smith). Warp: white wool; wefts: gold, olive wool and white vegetal dyed and natural wool. Selvages: gold cords added in on sides, olive cords woven in top and bottom. Warp direction: 84.5 x weft direction: 60 x depth: .3 cm, plus 9 cm tassels at each corner.
