Object Description Wide Ruins rug, made by Blanche Hale. Four bands of red-brown with central stripe of orange-tan enclosing three concentric serrated white diamonds outlined in dark brown, orange, with brown at center, imposed on band with three stepped gray diamonds with orange serrated outline, and bordered by a narrow gray and wider dark brown bands. These bands alternate with five narrow bands of orange-tan and dark brown lines. Warp: white wool; weft: dark brown, red-brown dark rust, orange-tan, orange, gray and white natural and vegetal colored wool. Selvages: 2-ply gold cords added in all four edges. Warp direction: 100 x weft direction 63.5 x depth .3 cm, plus 12 cm tassels each corner. Paper tag, written in pencil "Wide Ruins.
