Object Description
Tapa cloth. Siapo tasina with free-hand painting. Medium-weight off-white two-layer cloth, decorated on one side. Upper edge is raw, natural, with side edges, cut and lower edge, cut in V shapes for fringes (13). rubbed over a design tablet in a matte medium red-brown paint with freehand painting in a semi-gloss dark brown-black. Medium red-brown paint somewhat visible on rear side. The outer perimeter areas (5 to 10 cm) of the top and two side edges are unpainted. Number on rear side.
