Object Description
Heavy winter robe made from a single buffalo hide, quilled almost entirely with split bird quills. Lanes of quillwork run in two directions, perpendicular to each other. Features include a "hood" of quill-wrapped rawhide fringe surrounding the head of the bison, a quilled brain disk, quilled ear panels, quilled, slatted shoulder straps, and a quilled, slatted tail. Possibly a "buffalo calling robe."
