Object Description
Dark patterned man's tapa cloth with brown stripes. A medium to heavy weight cloth roughly beaten appearing a light yellow-brown tone overall with freehand painted decoration in a matte orange red-brown dye-like paint and a gray-black ink or dye. Design is linear with half circles dissected by double lines. Grain direction is lengthwise. Branch holes evident with surrounding discoloration. Three sides are uneven natural finish with one side cut (side with Peabody number).
