Object Description
Portion of tunic, single interlocked tapestry with camelid wefts (2s-plied, 25-35 epcm.); divided into two distinct designs: modified "tuning fork" design, magenta, yellow; same motif, magenta, ochre, overlaid with four bands of dark brown and white checkerboard squares with undulating outlines. Next section of fabric torn away; probably the two designs were repeated. Warp selvage has cut ends stitched back into fabric; red camelid along this edge indicates the piece was originally seamed to another. One warp, one weft selvage. Warp: brown camelid, white cotton, (2s-plied), 9 epcm.
