Object Description
Painted grave marker; rectangular tablet of canes laid side by side and folded, envelope style, into a white cotton plainweave cloth which is stitched together at the back. Front painted with an abstract figure with curled horn-like headdress; figure is surrounded by stars, birds, and animals. A wave band frames the rectangle. Pigments are red-orange and blue-gray. Warp: cotton, (z-2s), 9 epcm. Weft: cotton, (z triples), 6 groups per cm.
