Object Description Tapa cloth, striped design. Malo (man's loin cloth) with embossed and applied colored design. A thick, dense, rather stiff cloth of minimally beaten off-white inner bark fibers; two lengths of bark joined by stitching with an unspun bast-like fiber sewing strand; (~4 stitches/cm; see Kooijman p. 112, second example, for stitching diagram). Additional notes under conservation.
