Object Description
Scene of kneeling Navajo man making a sandpainting. He wears brown moccasins, white pants, light brown shirt, silver concha belt, white and turquoise beaded necklace, and white headband. Hair tied in traditional knot. Sandpainting consists of a blue rainbow guardian encircling four yei plant figures (corn, bean, tobacco, and squash). Also a black bat form and a miniature black rainbow guardian. There are six small pots, four of which hold different colored sand. Beside the man lies a flat wooden stick. Scene mounted on a wood base that simulates sandstone. Signed on the bottom "Nelson B. Watchman". In pencil is written GRNX and price.
