Object Description
Two pieces of tapestry panel; three rows of six rectangular frames contain repeats of a seated feline in serpent-headed collar and crescent headdress. Animals primarily pink and gold wave bands. Across top and bottom are multicolored wave bands between bands of gold and tan weft-faced plainweave. Weave is slit tapestry with eccentric outlining. Warp ends cut(?), covered with red camelid buttonholes stitch. Two weft selvages. Warp: brown cotton, (2z-plied), 7 epcm. Weft: camelid, (z), (2s-plied), 30 epcm.; cotton, (2s-plied), 36 epcm. 19.2 x 48.4 cm. (second piece)
