Descriptions
Object Description Band with repeats of a striped, curled wave(?) motif woven in slit tapestry technique. Curls are gold and brown camelid on red camelid ground. Wefts from the base of the curls extend as uncut weft loop fringe along one side of the band. Warp ends are turned under and stitched. Wrapped yarns stitched to the ends probably served as loops for fastening the band. Two warp, two weft selvages. Warp: cotton, (s-2z), 8 epcm. Weft: camelid, (z-2s), 48 epcm.
