Descriptions
Object Description
Coal Mine Mesa rug. Raised outline technique. Hedlund says it may be by Lillie Walker, from the 1970's-1980's, due to the rough handspun yarns and simple designs. Seven serrated diamonds stacked up center of rug, each with a central squash blossom motif in gold and brown vertical beading enclosed in a gray and brown vertical bead diamond which is enclosed in a black and brown vertical beaded serrated diamond within a straight-sided white and brown diamond. At each side a series of six half diamonds and two quarter diamonds meshes with central diamonds; these have a gray and brown vertical beaded serrated center and outer straight-sided gold and brown beading half diamond. Raised outline trim. [see extended description in Text Entries Object Description]
