Descriptions
Object Description
Flat, tapering pipe stem wrapped with white-, orange-, and brown-braided quillwork strips that form color bands and geometric shapes. A hair bundle is attached at the center, and a dyed red hair cap covers the smoking end. Once painted blue-green; decorated with a heddle-woven wool and glass bead garter and a central hair bundle. Some of the ribbons have been previously conserved due to their unattached state and therefore the current positioning may not be the original position. See conservation report for additional information.
