Object Description
Feather headdress worn by executioner (from CC and/or ledger). Headdress is composed of a cap made from a medium-brown stem/bast fiber cordage (2 ply Z) in knotted looping technique. Cap and sides are made in two parts, the top and upper sides, and an attached band that extends from the sides to the front. Long narrow brown chicken feathers and short red-orange gray parrot feathers are attached with a light-brown leaf fiber cordage (2 ply Z) on the top and upper sides of the cap. The feather attachment cordage is continuous; the bent quill ends pass through the cap's network and then wrapped two or three times to lock into position.
