Object Description
Globular basket with domed lid, in 1/1 interlaced structure. Natural-colored warp elements and lid handle are wood splints, probably white oak. Weft elements of honeysuckle are mainly natural tan, but both basket and lid have two bands of alternating black and orange elements. Rims of basket and lid are reinforced with honeysuckle elements, attached by coiling. Handle in center of lid is ring-shaped, covered by coiling/wrapping. Dyes from walnut (brown) and blood root (orange). Dimensions: height including lid = 18.7 cm, height to rim = 15 cm, diameter = 12.2 cm at rim, max. diameter = 18.7 cm. Lid is 7 cm H x 14.6 cm dia.
