Object Description Written on board: "California / See over. / [verso] Prof. F. W. Putnam with compliments of H. N. Rust"; (on letter) So Pa Cal June 18th 1906. Prof Putnam, I regret to hear of your illness and hope to hear better news of you. I have been down for six weeks on a week (?) now. I mail you today photos of my last find 21 sand stone bowls 14 to 20 inches in diameter & 14 to 16 in. deep. Evidently cached for safety not far from San Fernando. My most remarkable find in Cal. (L(?) did not get them). Truly Yours, H. N. Rust / I should have said the pictures were taken on the drive east of my house. My mealing stone a permanent exhibit being on the left. I believe I have the most complete and earliest mealing stones on this coast." [see Object Description text entry for extended description]
