Object Description
Salimopia Itapanahnan'ona (warrior from the zenith) kachina of painted cottonwood root with large black fabric ruff at neck and small green ones at ankles and right wrist. Black case mask with red and blue tubular mouth, white eyes outlined in green which are joined together, flower designs in orange, green, and brown for ears against white background, and a horizontal red tube with blue end affixed to head (oriented front to back). Top of head is yellow and back is red. Design on torso consists of six squares on each side randomly painted red, yellow, black, white, or turquoise. Wears turquoise belt, white kilt with green and black rim designs, and leather sash across torso. Legs are vertically striped in white, red, blue, yellow, and black.
