Object Description
Talavai kachina lamp (A) with shade (B) and shade holder (C). Lamp base is of oak with three glass and one mirrored side. Talavai (Morning) kachina inside is of cottonwood root and wears white leather kilt and shawl, both with designs in black and red. Left leg and right forearm are turquoise; opposite limbs are gold. Torso is red with gold and turquoise designs. Green and red sash of ribbon around waist. Turquoise case mask with red tubular mouth, red slab ears, cloud designs on cheeks, and green cloth neck ruff. Feather headdress. Kachina holds bell in right hand and pine bough in left. Shade is white. Lamp is one of matching pair (with 995-29-10/73497).
