Descriptions
Object Description Yamuhakto kachina of painted cottonwood root with natural leather skirt and painted sash in green, white, black, and red. Turquoise helmet mask with round black eyes and mouth, black top with yellow "crow-foot" design, black and white ruff, and blue horizontal bar attached to top of head with black fabric tassels. Shoulders and forearms are painted gold, while torso and upper arms are orange. Design of white dots covers both gold and orange areas. Chips of turquoise arranged in triangular pattern at top of front and back of torso. Legs are gold and moccasins are turquoise, white, and red. In each hand kachina hold two black and white feathers. Mounted on base. Kachina is part of set of 10 depicting participants in a Shalako ceremony (995-29-10/73499-73508). Presumed to be ca[see Object Description text entry for extended description]
