Object Description Mudhead kachina of painted cottonwood root with black fabric kerchief around neck. Body painted brown with black kilt and red moccasins. Head has bumps on top, sides, front, and back. Protruding eyes and mouth with black centers. Mounted on base. Kachina is part of set of 10 depicting participants in a Shalako ceremony (995-29-10/73499-73508). Presumed to be carved by Steven Cumosoa. (See notes/histories- attribution, bibliography).
