Object Description
Kachina of painted cottonwood root, probably either a Kwasus Alektaqa or a Kahaila (Mad Kachina):at. Has turquoise high topped moccasins with red detailing, black legs, white kilt with rain sash and foxtail, red cowboy shirt with white arms, turquoise armbands, red head with turquoise face mask and feathers in place of ears. White feather also on top of head. Mask has red tubular mouth, rectangular black eyes, and black yarn as hair. Yellow and white yarn tied around left leg and right arm; black yarn around left wrist; black and white sash of yarn over torso. (See notes/histories- bibliography)
