Object Description Round rug or hanging with pictorial/plant motifs. Beige background with nine flower elements of green stems with leaves and green pod with red or white flowers on top, small brown bird perched atop central red flower and two orange birds atop two adjacent red flowers; woven with plants growing across warps. Ann Hedlund says it is probably from the family of Anson Yellowhair, due to the floral motif and the grey background. Though A. H. didn't know Yellowhair wove in the round, she does know of neighbors who do so. She says the piece has the right "feel" and yarns to be Yellowhairs -- the wool is probably commercially cleaned, maybe even commercially spun.
