Object Description
Corner fragment of 1- and 2-ply cotton, single ply, single ply tightly twisted; 2 ply wool [camelid]. Design: one surface has all-over onterlocking fret des. with very small scroll and simple geom. flower-like motifs. The design is triangular, side toward center is stepped. The reverse surface has interlocking all-over fret, main part cream cotton w/lines of rose [flower?]. Technique: double faced brocade-the two sides both interlocking fret give quite different effects. Rather coarse ordinary weaving for the plain portion. Warps, single ply tightly twisted, pairs. Weft: single, 2 ply.
