Object Description
Border of brown cotton on tan camelid ground. Design is a row of profile birds flanked by narrow bands of weft-faced plainweave. Below is a repeated step-block design with small birds in the blocks. Technique is slit tapestry with occasional dovetailing to close slits. Warp: brown cotton, z-2s, 12 epcm. Weft: tan camelid, z-2d, 38 epcm.
