Object Description
Optical illusion design rug. White background field with series of connected cube forms with white top and black and brown sides, alternating bands of seven cubes and bands of six cubes with half cubes on each side. Border: black band around all four edges. Warp: brown-gray natural handspun wool; wefts: white, black, brown-gray natural handspun wools. Selvages: 3-ply brown-gray cords added in all four edges.
Warp direction 87 x weft direction 69.5 x depth .4 cm, plus 9-11 cm tassels at each corner.
Paper tag, written in pencil: "Optical Illusion 27 x 34" written in ink: "R16N"
