Object Description
Cane basket with square bottom, round rim, and arched wooden handle, plaited in 3/3 twill structure on sides, 2/2 on bottom. Warp elements in alternating bands of natural tan and orange; weft elements primarily dark brown, but with tan/orange/tan striped band just below rim. Rim reinforced with single wooden element attached by coiling; a second row of coiling surrounds warp element ends on inside of rim. Dimensions: height to top of handle = 36 cm, height to rim = 18 cm, bottom = 20.5 cm square, average rim diameter = 24.5 cm, maximum width = 26.3 cm.
