Object Description
Written on board: "Serpent Mound Park, Adams Co., Ohio. / Peabody Museum Amer. Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. / John Cone Kimball, Photographer, 1887. / 27-- A section of the Burial-mound. / Showing the position of several of the intrusive graves, one of which is marked by the four stones at the right of the centre near the surface. The dark band on the level with the large square stone, 1 ft. from the bottom of the mound, is the ash bed in which were several large logs that had been burnt to charcoal."
