Object Description Large weft-twined rectangular bag, dating to the turn of the twentieth century. Weft yarn is commercial 4-ply z-spun s-twisted wool, aniline dyed, in light and dark yellow (light yellow is faded to tan), orange, dark navy blue, red, bright blue faded to grey, and lavender faded to grey. Original colors are evident on the inside of the bag. The bottom of the bag is sewn shut, indicating it is of the later style. The designs indicate the bag is in a relatively early mode, being different on each side. On one side, the patterns were chosen to represent water symbolism. The largest design elements are two wide bands at the top and bottom, representing rippling water with dark navy zig-zags on an orange background at the bottom and a half-orange, half yellow background at the to[see Object Description text entry for extended description]
