Descriptions
Object Description
Rug; bordered with simple bands of gray and dark brown. The central pattern is that of two stepped diamonds with white centers. Other secondary elements include smaller dark diamonds, also with white centers. The rug is not perfectly symmetric. Composition is of native spun, undyed, soft wools from local sheep, typical of the "pound rug" period. The quality of the weaving is loose, with numerous short bits of yarn utilized to complete various portions of the diverse design elements. The quality of the weaving is also mixed, with some areas being more or less tightly woven and others less so.
