Object Description
Wooden hat, used at sea. Wooden visor. Animal effigy. Made of bent wood (spruce?) with baleen stitching. Attachments of multicolored thread, fur, and feathers. The carved figures on the side represent puffins. The figures in squares on top represent killerwhales. The upper lines on the posterior are combinations of red over black and signify the number of battles, and the bottom lines represent the number of journeys. The painted crescent on top represents nostrils.
