Object Description
Wide Ruins rug.Three white bands with seven connecting serrated concentric diamonds and two half diamonds of brown, then rose, with gray center, and gray and dark gray serrated border patterns; these bands separated by four broad bands of gold with center band of dark gray, light gray, brown and tan lines and rows of beading in gray/brown and dark gray/white, and outer edges of beading in brown/gold and brown/gray. Warp: white wool; weft: gold, white, rose, gray, brown, tan, dark gray natural and vegetal colored wool. Selvages: 2-ply gold cords added in at sides, 3-ply gold cords added in top and bottom.
Warp direction: 123.5 x weft direction: 84.5 cm x d .4 cm, plus 10 cm tassels each corner.
Paper tag, written in pencil: "Mary Silversmith 32 1/2 x 48"
