Object Description
Border; slit tapestry in shades of yellow, brown, pink, red camelid on red ground. Central section: six birds facing one direction, bodies, eyes outlined in contrasting colors. Stepped fret band between weft stripes above and below main section; at top of fragment, three 3-stepped sections with hour-glass designs. Yellow tapestry tab fringe (1.5" x 1/3" (6 paired warp ends). Weft selvages good; warp selvaged along tabs (some tabs joined by thick white cord); at top warp cut close to stepped design. Warp visible in sections. Evidence of sewing along long vertical side of stepped sections
