Written on board: "Bell County, Texas. 34-119. / Owned by Dr. Alex Dienst, Temple, Texas. Shell gorget, or pendant decorated with rows of drilles pits forming a "T," or variant of the cross. / Note that specimen bears a single suspension hole rather than two holes such as commonly appear in the circular gorgets. / Gift of J. E. Pearce, Chairman, Department of Anthropology, University of Texas."
