Object Description
Woman's manta, type of about 1840 to 1860, in weft-faced tapestry weave, in two peices. Made of red s-spun single ply , indigo and black z-spun single-ply, and green weft with white z-spun single-ply warp.
Piece A (the wider piece) : Black center panel with red, green and indigo top and bottom borders in the following pattern: Blue band of stepped traingles; red band; narrow blue band; wide red band with six diamonds composed of blue squares with two narrow green horizontal lines in red center; narrow blue band; red band; blue band with inverted stepped triangles; two red bands with one narrow horizontal green band down center separated by narrow blue band; narrow blue band. Sides of border portion outlined in blue with small 'teeth' on side edges of pattern between stepp [see Object Description text entry for extended description]
