Object Description
Diamond twill weave Navajo saddle girth of red (4-ply) light purple, dark purple, green. blue (3-ply) and white s-spun woll and white s-spun cotton. Girth composed of five horizontal bands. The center band has three diamonds arranged vertically. the two outside diamonds are dark purple on the outside and light purple on the inside, separated by white. The center diamond is green on the outside and dark purple on the inside and separated by white. In between diamonds at edges are four light purple half-diamonds outlines in white. border of girth is red diamond pattern, separated from center panel by red anda light purple diamond pattern band. Sides are stitched with blue yarn. Ends have been knotted to iron rings. Colton "grocery string" warp; coarse wool weft. Length: 73.3[see Object Description text entry for extended description]
