Object Description
Small Navajo loom with in-progress weaving and beater. Loom: Upper and lower yarn beams made of carved sticks with gray and white plied wool yarn used to attach warp and with blue border cord at top and bottom. One shed rod made of a narrow twig near top. Also one narrow fork-style carved beater. Length: 40 cm; Width: 47 cm; Depth: 2.5 cm. Excellent condition. Textile: Tapestry weave white, red, yellow, green and blue s-spun 4-ply wool and white cotton s-spun warp. Pattern of concentric stepped diamonds, bottom half in blue, white, green and yellow, top half in green, white, red, blue, and yellow. Quarter diamond of yellow and green with red centers at bottom corners. Also, bottom has six stripes -- yellow, white, green, red, yellow and green.
