Miniature kachina scene set against terraced pueblo with 25 kachinas

Object Description
Piece of cottonwood root carved to represent a dance plaza and three terraced pueblos with kachina scene. Dance plaza consists of horno with firewood, three pots, a pair of moccasins, and a bowl holding three small balls. Kachinas consist of Koshare and Mudhead pair pulling cart with two watermelons, Koshare and Mudhead pair with white and green drum, and six various kachinas forming a line dance. Two ladders lead to first terrace where two Mudheads and one Koshare are near kiva. Other kachinas on this terrace are: a brown Owl, Koshare, Kokopelli, Mudhead, and Koshare. Stairs lead to second terrace that contains ladder and the following kachinas: Hemis, a grey Owl, two Mudheads, and Koshare. Pueblo features include vigas. Labelled on bottom "Hopi Pueblo" with maker's mark. Carved by Yvonne Louis (see notes/histories- maker).
