Object Description
Banded oversized blanket or rug. Handspun pinkish gray, light orange, dark orange (red), black and indigo-blue z-spun 3 ply wool. The red and orange yarns are aniline-dyed and the black has been augmented. Seven broad horizontal pinkish-gray bands separated from each other by a total of six reddish-orange bands that contain two bands of black and indigo blue. The orangish bands consist of red and and orange areas. Gray selvage on ends only. Side selvages have been left as woven. Length: 186 cm, Width: 116.4 cm, Depth: .5 cm. Thread count: warp - 3 ends/cm, weft - 9 ends/cm. In very good condition, but there is a reparied section, approx. 12" x 12", at one end.
