Object Description Germantown Gallop throw or pillow top. Square with a central serrated red hourglass figure containing six short bars in dark gray and white "salt & pepper" wool, on a serrated white hourglass figure, with green half diamonds filling field at each side and a red stripe above and below white hourglass. Outer border: a gray band on all four edges. Warp: white cotton, plied; wefts: red, green, white, gray Germantown commercially processed multi-plied wool. Selvages: weft wrapped around outer warp at sides; 4-ply red yarn added one end, 4-ply green and 4-ply beige yarn added at other end. Warp direction 52 plus 3cm fringe one end x weft direction 51.5 x depth .2 cm, plus 7-8 cm tassels on two corners.
